Objectives – The participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the role of state Departments of Transportation, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, and local Departments of Transportation in determining transportation and land use outcomes, and how their work shapes the built environment and public health outcomes.
  2. Understand how transportation agencies are using Complete Streets and multi-modal planning to dramatically improve health, equity, and economic outcomes in communities across the country.
  3. Understand what actions are needed to create systemic change in how transportation networks are planned and specific steps public health organizations and professionals can take to facilitate transformation.
