TaKING INITIATIVE: NAVIGATING THE CHALLENGES OF AUTHENTICALLY MOVING OUR DEI EFFORTS FORWARD*

ASPHN is delighted to welcome Anne Phibbs, founder and president of Strategic Diversity Initiatives, for this special all-day workshop. Anne brings over 25 years’ experience helping organizations advance their diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. She is adept at assessing an organization’s strengths and challenges and tailoring her approach to its context, culture, and goals.

In this interactive, daylong workshop, we’ll spend time exploring what it means to carry out our social justice and antiracist work in ways that are authentic, strategic, and sustainable. This workshop will create a space for the reflection, learning, and community we need. We’ll address the unique challenges that often accompany DEI efforts in our organizations, from stakeholder disagreement to lack of buy-in; from elitism and hierarchy to limited resources and lack of vision.

Building a learning community committed to accountability, humility, and reciprocity, we’ll practice having challenging conversations about the ways we continue to perpetuate bias, often unknowingly. We’ll learn from each other and share our own challenges and successes. And we’ll come away with insights and next steps for developing ourselves and our organizations as true leaders around DEI.

*Only available to in-person registrants
