As of February 1, 2023, the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) announcement for HOP and SPAN have been released, and we are waiting for the REACH NOFO announcement.

TIPS TO HELP YOU STAY ON TRACK

Use the following information to help you once the NOFO is released.

  • BEGIN PREPARATIONS NOW. Find out the process within your agency — who needs to approve or sign off on the application? How much lead time will they need to review?
  • LOOK WITHIN YOUR AGENCY for strategic plans and priorities that align well with national topics of discussion.
  • SIGN-UP ON GRANTS.GOV to receive updates once the NOFO is released, or to find out who within your agency has access to grants.gov.
  • ATTEND THE APPLICANT CALL. The call date and time and join information will be in the NOFO. Take careful notes in case the call is not recorded.
  • CAREFULLY STUDY THE EVALUATION CRITERIA USED BY APPLICATION REVIEWERS. Create a check list of all the grant requirements and have a third party review to be sure you’ve met all those requirements in what you want to submit.
  • PREPARE AND SUBMIT QUESTIONS. Don’t try and predict or guess intent.
  • CONSTANTLY MONITOR THE Q&A PROVIDED BY DNPAO. This will help inform and take the guesswork out of your application.
  • LOOK ON THE DNPAO WEBSITE for resources and be sure to bookmark those pages.
  • REVIEW THE WHITE HOUSE NATIONAL STRATEGY to find strategies that are mentioned in the NOFO.
  • CHECK THIS ASPHN WEBPAGE frequently for updated information.
  • ONCE THE NOFO IS RELEASED, ASPHN will highlight resources it has related to strategies.
