This is a full time, career-track appointment that includes the expectation that the appointee will conduct mission-oriented research and engage in extension education and outreach that advances the mission of the Department of Nutrition and ANR. The focus of this position will be on nutrition and food-related health topics, nutrition programs and recommendations, communicating nutrition and health education to the public, and strengthening community linkages between equitable food access and improvement in chronic disease risk factors related to health outcomes. Accordingly, applicants should have the professional background necessary to conduct original research in emerging issues in foods, nutrition equity, health-related outcomes and community resilience. By developing reciprocal and mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues and with various stakeholders, the candidate should become a knowledgeable partner who can provide reliable information and build research-informed networks to address issues of regional and California-wide importance.
