What You’ll Do:

• Plans, implements, and evaluates food access interventions, trainings and resources for state and local funded grantees and other stakeholders
• Actively participates in food access networks, groups and listservs
• Collaborates internally and cross agency with bureaus and programs at the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) to incorporate healthy eating strategies into the workplace. Ohio enterprise-wide collaboration with relevant state agencies (i.e., Aging, Agriculture, Education)
• Provides technical assistance to Creating Healthy Communities grantees on food access work and assists with management of external contracts related to food access
• Recommends evidence-based training programs and educational materials and obtains data to meet identified needs
• Assists health promotion program manager and other staff in preparing grant proposals, data reports, and other administrative duties
• Contributes to Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant (PHHSBG) plan, annual report, and evaluation and other CDC Cooperative Agreements
• Assists in developing requests for proposals for local health promotion projects
• Reviews grant and contract proposals submitted to ODH for funding and determines appropriateness for funding, revisions, and special conditions for funding
• Provides technical assistance to funded project partners in adopting policies, environmental and system changes in priority communities
• Conducts literature reviews and attends trainings, meetings, and conferences to keep abreast of trends, best practices, other developments, and to expand knowledge related to nutrition security, health education and chronic diseases
