This position will work with an interagency team of program coordinators and support partners to continue the development of a uniform program across ALTSD, PED, and ECECD. Job duties include the administration of state appropriated funds, on-boarding and certification of farmers, and providing training and professional development for providers. The incumbent will be expected to develop technical assistance manuals, memos, and other materials to ensure compliance with USDA regulations. The position will oversee all aspects of the farm to preschool program including curriculum development, evaluation, daily operations, and administration. The incumbent will recruit and develop relationships with local farmers, oversee the creation of program related education materials and coordinate and implement the development of a preschool level nutrition program. This position will develop statewide nutrition education and Farm to Preschool materials for preschool and childcare centers across the State of New Mexico. The selected applicant will provide technical assistance to preschool programs that are having difficulties meeting the requirements or locating locally grown products and will assist with the process of helping farmers get approved and eligible to receive Farm to Preschool funding for their produce or other food products. The Farm to Preschool coordinator will work closely with the Governor’s Office to ensure success of priority food security initiatives. The position will also oversee funding distribution for the Summer Food and At-Risk Expansion & Enhancement grant.
