Event Details

The Food & Hunger Initiative Coordinator will:

  • Lead the project management of an administration priority that will work in close collaboration with the Governor’s Office;
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive inter-agency strategic plan to measurably reduce hunger while strengthening State food systems;
  • Work in partnership with other State and Federal agencies and stakeholders in the agriculture, food, and hunger-related sectors ;
  • Anticipate competing priorities and setbacks that could delay or negatively impact the expected outcome of these projects;
  • Provide strategic support to the leadership of the Human Services Department (HSD) Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) which is responsible for the oversight of an array of food distribution programs- including, but not limited to: School Commodity Foods Program, Emergency Food Assistance Program, and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program for older adults
  • Carry out stakeholder engagement, insight, researching, and analyzing complex issues and problems, along with determining solutions that will keep the project on target
