The ASPHN Board of Directors met on September 8, 2017. The Board:
Welcomed new Expanded members Stephanie Brown (SC), Jillian Osborn (NY) and Jennifer Tarburton (DE), and new Associate members Brenda Fisher (WV), Melinda Hobler (OH), Vera Prince (MI) and Ginnie Uhley (MI);
Passed a motion approving the vision statement “Healthy eating and active living for everyone”;
Passed a motion approving the mission statement “To strengthen nutrition policy, programs and environments for all people through development of public health nutrition leaders and collective action of members nationwide”
Approved the 2017 – 2022 ASPHN Strategic Plan;
Approved Carol Friesen’s nomination to the Governance Committee to fulfill the Obesity Prevention Nutrition Council vacancy for the 2017 – 2018 leadership year; and
Approved up to $500 of unrestricted funds to support travel for Mary Ann Ellsworth to attend the in-person meeting of the National Fruit and Vegetable Alliance scheduled for November 3, 2017.
