The ASPHN Board of Directors met on August 9, 2024.
- Membership applications approved in August 2024:
- Five (5) General members: Noelle Schrankler and Melissa Vang (MN); Catherine Brewster (NY); and Crystal Connor and Berry Kelly (SC).
- Three (3) Associate members, including one (1) student/emerging professional: Somadee Cheam and Robin Schow (MN); and Eveyln Grijalva (WA).
- ASPHN was approved and funded for a CDC-PW-24-0080 cooperative agreement. Key points about this funding:
- Period of performance is 5 years (8/1/2024 to 7/31/2029)
- Budget period is 8/1/2024 to 7/31/2025
- Budget award level is $300,000

- Policy Committee actions have been taken on behalf of ASPHN:
- Signed on in support of the CDC Coalition’s sign-on letter to the full House of Representatives opposing the proposed $1.8 B (22%) cut to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as they prepare to bring the FY 2025 Labor-HHS-Education appropriations bill to the House floor for a vote.
